I’m not gonna say it never happens.
I did a thing.
If a single good thing came out of this pandemic is these freaking things, and seeing people in their vulnerable places, their refuges, surrounded by those they love as they try to do their work. It’s funny, yes, but it’s also so deeply charming and touching.
Not mine, sis in law sent to me, had to repost.
Tumblr is a hellhole and I have it blocked, but once in a while a golden screencap reposted by someone makes its way to me.
Stolen from Luring! Gosh remember when memes like these were all over the place on FA?
(If I enter years instead of age don’t give me a hard time.)
🌈 Lost your virginity? 27
🌈 Lost someone close to you? I forget the exact year, I think it was 2005 when my Grandma died in Argentina (we couldn’t be there.)
🌈 Consumed alcohol? Does sidra (Argentinean cider) count? It has very little alcohol, but it definitely has some. All children in Argentina have a sip of sidra on New Year’s Eve at midnight if they manage to stay awake. I was too young to remember the first time. Other than this I was a teetotaler until my late 20s.
🌈 Received a kiss? Surprisingly, I don’t remember most of my first kisses in relationships. But I remember the first kiss I gave someone. I was 12 and he was 15 or 16, maybe even 17, but back then, you really were treated as a child even at that age. I broke his heart about two weeks later. I still have many of his love letters, so many years later. He was a sweet boy, his name was Claudio. I think in this day and age such an age difference horrifies people even though we were both minors, but there was nothing perverse about it. It was the most innocent kind of “puppy love”. When I look back as a middle aged adult, I see him as a little boy. Perhaps partly because he was so short, and had such a sweet and naïve disposition.
🌈 Went to the hospital? Probably 10 or so. They thought I had appendicitis, I didn’t. Horrible experience all the same.
🌈 Had a broken heart? May of 2018. I used to think that my heart was broken whenever I was dumped or lost a pet. Having your heart actually really, really broken is a very different thing to being simply “deeply sad” and it takes years to put back together. And in a way it never goes back together as before. I guess mine is mostly back together now but a lot of things will never be the same. It’s funny the things that can break your heart, sometimes more than losing a parent or grandparent or beloved pet. The things that will genuinely shatter you forever tend to take you by surprise.
🌈 Lost a pet? 26, I think. It was December 2010. Well, not exactly. I lost hamsters before this. I remember being well-versed with pet death from a young age because I liked to keep small animals, so I wouldn’t remember exact dates of those (even though I still have a bit of my old hamster Pat’s soft fur in my memory box. I must have been 11-12 when he passed away.) But I was 26 when our cat Stimpy died, and that’s the first pet death that really left a massive hole in my life.
🌈 Got arrested? Never.
🌈 Broke a bone? Never.
🌈 Got your first job? 16, at a comic book store.
🌈 Got a boyfriend or girlfriend? 12
🌈 Went to a concert? This may or may not count but I was really small when my Grandma took me to see Beauty and The Beast (the Broadway show). Maybe 7? My life would never be the same again. Definitely a before and after moment. I went with no idea what I was going to see or what a Broadway show was.
🌈 Met someone famous? 11 or so. I met famous people before this but it didn’t matter very much. However this was when I met Sendra, creator of Yo, Matias. I still have a sketch he drew for me.
🌈 Got in a car wreck? 2018. SUPER minor, it was barely a bump, not at all a wreck. But it was memorable, because that entire weekend had been.
🌈 Dyed your hair? Never.
🌈 Flew on an airplane? 18
🌈 Went to another state? 2014
🌈 Went across the country? The farthest I’ve ever gone is PA in 2019, unless you count my first flight in 2001 (Argentina to USA.)
🌈 Went to another country? 18
🌈 Got a tattoo? Never.
🌈 Had a piercing? When I was just a few months old, thank heavens my mom had it done then lol.
🌈 Smoked pot? Never.
🌈 Smoked a cigarette? Never.
🌈 Went to Disneyland or Disney World? 2006 (WDW)
🌈 Had a long term relationship? 2009 (it would end about 6 months later. 2010 wasn’t a great year for me.)
🌈 Dated somebody of another race? Never, but the first human I was ever attracted to was Chinese. And oh, I had it bad for him. He was a waiter at the Chinese buffet next door to where I worked.
🌈 Passed out from drinking? Never.
🌈 Became a furry? I think I fully embraced my furry trash status somewhere around 2014.
🌈 Went to your first non business / work related convention? That would be YasumiCon, but I don’t remember the year. It was so long ago. Anime convention. My first furry con was Megaplex 2013.
Yesterday I rediscovered this gem. You really have to be a hardcore fan of both of these franchises to fully appreciate how unbelievably wonderful this is. I just wanted to have it on my blog because I don’t want to forget it exists ever again.
On this day of August 29th, 2020, I am scheduling this post for Halloween, so I don’t forget to grace my blog with this gem from the Hawoweeny Gods.
