A Super Fun Weekend! ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿš‚โœจ๐Ÿšฒ

This weekend, Christopherโ€™s mom is visiting us. Weโ€™ve already had a lot of fun โ€”the three of us together, but also Iโ€™ve had fun with Christopher and by myself too.

Last night we went to Nami Sushi for dinner. I had the Buddha Tofu as usual and a Thai iced tea. It was very good:

The only bad thing is that, while theyโ€™ve had an excellent track record of caution during COVID, they rather overfilled their tiny restaurant with a massive party that sat right behind us. They were loud and obnoxious and I truly felt unsafe; I think the most unsafe Iโ€™ve felt in any situation since COVID started.

The next day, having made preparations the day prior, I woke up very early, at 6:30am. By 8:00am I was out and going on quite a long ride, almost another 20 miles. But this time I had a book, a picnic of onigiri and chocolate covered raisins, water, a thick picnic blanket, and a stuffed friend. I brought Turrรณn with me:

Here are some photos of our little picnic. I really was in heaven, and hardly anyone was around, I didnโ€™t feel embarrassed to have Turrรณn with me. My onigiri was really good, too.

I took this particular photo at the same time as the photo above. But this one is a selfie, of course:

On the way home, I had a treat! The cow (actually, bull/steer?) that I always see on this field was right by the fence this time. He was really friendly! Someone gave him an apple, but he had already eaten it.

After I got home and showered, we all went to a Pho place for lunch. I had some tofu and a mango bubble tea. I liked the restaurant a lot, so I expect we will be back. I brought Circo along this time, for a cute picture:

Once home we relaxed on the couch, watched some TV… Christopher had a coffee. Tomoyo was being very cuddly and I was able to snap a couple of shots while she kneaded my stomach:

The most fun of the evening came after this. Christopher finally opened all the wooden train and train set parts he received. I had some trains of my own. I was really looking forward to this experience and it didnโ€™t disappoint.

Christopher building the track.

Coffee Cake was with me. He really enjoyed having his own little train.

The cats were just all over everything, as cats do. Kotoko was particularly affectionate this evening:

Tomoyo ran around harassing everyone, including Kotoko who just wanted to โ€œfit and sitโ€.

Hereโ€™s Kotoko looking at the trains:

And Tomoyo’s reaction:

After we were done playing for the night, I went to do chores and Tabby and Christopher cooked amazingly delicious manicotti. I burned my mouth because it was so good I couldnโ€™t wait for it to cool down:

Then we played Mille Bornes. Kotoko wouldnโ€™t stop lovingly headbutting Christopher, she was being so adorable that I kept missing my turn with the cards:

I guess thatโ€™s all for this post. I tried to be brief, I am very tired… oh I did order my first Atelier game for the Switch today… I am super excited about that. I hope you all are enjoying your weekend so far. Goodnight, everyone.

Thursday Recap ๐Ÿšฒ๐Ÿฆ†๐Ÿ›

Yesterday I received the Limited Edition of Code Realize: Wintertide Miracles!

Iโ€™m super excited to play it, but believe it or not Iโ€™m gonna wait until Christmas. Itโ€™s a seasonal game and I feel Iโ€™ll enjoy it ever so much more.

I also discovered a new bike trail. It was very enjoyable and I plan to go on it again.

During my ride, I saw a mother duck with her ducklings…

I was even able to get a little video:

Something else that happened is, while I was heating my leftovers for lunch, I saw a very distressed earthworm doing jumps on the hot concrete of our screened-in porch. I carefully picked him up by moving him onto some damp paper and removed some of the hairs heโ€™d gotten tangled in. Then I put him in a container with nutrient rich soil, some food scraps, and coffee grounds.

I think he was just so cute. You can see his little mouth at the end of this video:

Iโ€™m not sure if heโ€™s going to survive, honestly. But Iโ€™ll do my best to look after him. As of today, he’d buried himself deep in the soil. If he starts to do better, I’ll buy a bag of worm feed. I’ve named him Spaghetti.

Something else that came yesterday is a package from ODU! It’s the Pupcakes and Mac ‘n Cheese designs. I love them!

I’m wearing one today after I shower, but haven’t decided which just yet. Maybe Pupcakes.

I also have a GigaPets t-rex now. But, I’ve yet to play with it:

My mom in law is coming to visit today so I have lots to do… I’ll end this post here. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

A Heck Of A Ride ๐Ÿšฒ๐Ÿ’จ

Today I pushed myself to do something I never ever did before. I rode my bike for over twenty miles! I’m still not even beginning to recover from it, but I’m really proud that I managed to do it.

This time, I took Heidi with me. The first photos I took where at the same little lake from before. Last time, I didn’t notice that there were “condominium style” little birdhouses for Purple Martins:

I took a better shot on the way back when I realized that the first photo turned out blurry:

Here’s a variety of pics I took during the ride. I really did have a lot of fun.

I took this photo when I was six miles from home, on the way back –so, roughly 14 miles into my ride. I was really tired by this point:

Once I was home and had recovered a little bit, I had lunch and played more Code Realize:

In another happy event today, I finally made a decent shot of espresso. I enjoyed it for my dessert, along with a box of chocolate raisins:

I’ve already shared recent photos of my blooming bougainvillea which I’ve had for over a year now. But it’s looking even prettier, so have some more photos:

Recently, Kotoko has been climbing onto the cat tree in spite of her arthritis. That made me so happy! I got a few pics of that also:

Now I am trying to get on with my day. I actually took a nap in the middle of writing this post, but I’m still terribly sleepy. The ride exhausted me. But I’m glad I did it. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Well, Today Was A Day ๐Ÿคก

I woke up to a puddle of $h!t in my bathroom because Kotoko had the runs. Then the news about Milo and intense work corroborating it took hours off of my day. My spirit was very low. Plus the semi-confirmation of a different suspicion that is giving me a lot of stress. I just have this weird, shaky and sad feeling. If I hadn’t made such a serious promise to myself, today would absolutely be a “buy a new bear” day.

I won’t, of course. Every penny and every spare moment to work on art that brings those pennies, to cover my debt, are of the utmost importance right now. But oh, how good do new bears feel. I don’t feel any danger of wavering in my resolve, it’s being tested today but that’s alright.

Next week is that doctor’s appointment with the potentially painful test. I don’t want to say what it is because I don’t want to read comments about how awful it is. I’ll go into details when it has been done, but I am dreading it.

Anyway, another long bike ride and talking to my friend Nate this morning helped a lot. It’s really wonderful to have such a friend to lean on, and who understands my very specific troubles, even if he lives an ocean’s distance away.

The bike ride was really nice:

Also, my new espresso machine that Christopher bought me came today!

And the last Walmart package for the kitchen, with the utensil jar and paper towel holder:

I’ll have a photo of the pretty paper towel holder soon. Oh, and my two skirtalls are coming tomorrow. That’s so exciting, too!

For dinner, I made chicken drumsticks in the Instant Pot. The Instant Pot is so pretty…

Dinner turned out alright:

Also, my baby pomatias are big enough to cling to the glass! They are still definitely developing though. The eggs were laid maybe three weeks ago, tops. The last clutch didn’t emerge until the shells were dark and twice this size.

CW: The rest of this post has to do with weight loss, body image, and feelings on the topic. PLEASE, if this upsets you, simply close the tab. Don’t read beyond the line below, don’t do that to yourself, please. Ok?
